Moyes' side went sixth in the Premier League with a smash and grab win at the Emirates over Arsenal on Thursday, thanks to goals from Tomas Soucek and former Gunner Konstantinos Mavropanos. Speculation has been rife that the 60-year-old would leave the club over the past year or so, as they staved off relegation in 2022/23, but after a rapid upturn in results, claims he will sign a two-and-a-half year contract.

Moyes' second spell at West Ham has been hugely impressive. He has led them into Europe on multiple occasions, delivered the club their first trophy in 43 years by winning last season's Europa Conference League, and they are into the knockout stages of the Europa League this term. The former Manchester United and Everton manager was out of contract this summer but this new deal is reward for his stellar work in the dugout.

Moyes was reportedly close to the sack on more than one occasion last season but he survived in the end. Over 206 matches in his second spell at West Ham, they have won 98 games, drawn 36, and lost 72. His first spell was far less successful as his win percentage was 29.03, against the 47.57 at present.
WHAT NEXT?
West Ham have had a hugely successful 2023, winning silverware, thriving in Europe again, and flying up the Premier League table. In 2024, they will hope to get off to a flying start again as they host Brighton on January 2 in the English top-flight.
